'Tis the Season For Getting Stuff...

Welp, another Christmas has come and gone. This was a pretty good Christmas, I must say. It was the first Christmas for Rose and I together. We both got each other neat stuff. I got her the new Harry Potter book, The Tales of Beedle the Bard, The X-Files movie blu-ray, Explorers
(she actually picked that one out and gave it to me to give to her for Christmas), these cute little red and white striped gloves, a heart locket and some stocking stuffers.
She bought me a trip to Disneyland along with a new suitcase for the trip, some cool Dark Knight t-shirts, some cool Harry Potter t-shirts, a Harry Potter winter hat, and a cool electronic Star Wars trivia book. She also got me some cool stocking stuffers.
Her brother got me a cool Elvis record and her sister sent me a Star Wars lunch box.

Rose came up with this cool clue on where we were going in February. I knew we were going to California, but I wasn't sure what we'd be doing there. So she made this little picture puzzle for me to put together. She put the pieces in each of my presents and I had to put the pieces together. Then she wrote our destination in some glow-in-the-dark glue that I had to go into the John to read. It was pretty cool. I'm really looking forward to the trip! I'm trying to save up what money I can so I can blow it on Star Tours.

Come February, I won't be the only 30 year old who has never been to Disneyland.

Rose's brother stayed with us for a couple days so he could have a nice Christmas morning. Then, we went to their grandparents' house for a nice dinner and more presents.
We still have to go to my mom's because we have presents over there, too.

All in all, a very nice Christmas. I look forward to the next one.

Protect the Shield Generator!

Yes, I know I already had an Empire Strikes Back reference in my last post, but this one is more fitting since they could shoot pickup shots for the snow battle if they felt so inclined.
Needless to say, I didn't get to work today. Rose was going to drive to work, so she couldn't drive me today. However, she was stuck for 20 minutes just trying to get out of the parking lot here at the apartments, so she just worked from home today. I put my DVD's away while watching X-Files and Braveheart. Productive.

I can pretty much kiss that perfect attendance award at work goodbye now. Oh, well, this is the first day I haven't been to work since I started, so I'm not too bummed out. If it doesn't snow today and tonight, I should be able to go to work. Some of it is melting already, so let's hope the roads clear up a bit.

I think I should do some drawing and writing. I have some ideas I need to jot down. I've been checking craigslist for some art gigs, but so far I haven't found anything. I'll keep looking though.

That's all I have to say about that.

We've Moved to Hoth...

Everytime it snows, I feel like I'm on Hoth. I wanna bust out my AT-AT toy and take funny pictures. It's been snowing like a madman here as I'm sure everyone else can attest. I did make it in to work today, but not before sliding around in the parking lot and almost smashing into a co-worker's vehicle. Of course, that was a big ass truck that probably wouldn't even have moved and my front end would have been caved in. But, I digress. The only time I was really sliding around was in the parking lot at work, the roads around here are pretty clear. But, now it's snowing like crazy, so it's in the air whether I'll be going in tomorrow. If I don't, I can kiss that "Holiday Survivor" prize at work goodbye.

Rose recently bought The X-Files: The Complete Collector's Edition
and we've been watching those, about an episode a night. I never watched it much when it was on, but now I'm kind of into it. I told her she'd probably like Smallville because sometimes it's a bit like the X-Files. So, hopefully we'll get to watch that next.

Work's been going ok. Our hours were cut back a bit, so hopefully it won't hurt me that much.

I still have a tad bit of Christmas shopping left to do this weekend. Hopefully, that will be it for me.

Well, I guess that's it for now. I better get my trusty Tauntaun out of the barn.

That'd be cool if we had those.

Raul's Wild Kingdom, Coming to You Live...From My Apartment!

Ok, I'm not really Raul, but I am coming to you live from my apartment...well, actually, Rose's apartment, I just live here now. That's right, kids. I'm basically all moved in now. I have my furniture, clothes, movies, computer, etc. all over here now. There only remains a few odds and ends at my mom's house, but those can wait.
We're still cluttered at the moment, boxes and furniture in odd places, but hopefully next weekend we can finally finish that.

I had my 90 day evaluation at work. It was actually pretty good...I got all "Meets Expectations" and my supervisor had very few things for me to improve on. But, at least he had something because once you reach the top, you can only go down. My hours got cut a bit, so that's gonna hurt. I need to get myself out there creatively so I can do some consulting work.

We got an Xbox 360 and I'm on Xbox Live, so if you have that, go ahead and add me...I'm Supergeek5000. We only have 2 games at the moment, but hopefully we can add some more after Christmas.

It's supposed to snow this weekend. I'm not looking forward to that. We live on this big, winding hill. That should be fun in the snow. I'm staying home if it snows, which works out because I have this weekend off.

We're having this "Holiday Survivor" contest at work. I think I have a good chance of winning since I've never called out, been late, or missed lunch. I hear there are some good prizes too, so that'll be interesting to see.

We got Frances spayed on Tuesday. She seems to be doing well. At least she won't have to go into heat every 2 weeks anymore. It's uncomfortable for her and irritating for us. Our other cat, Sammy, keeps trying to nurse off of her for some reason. It's kind of funny.

Welp, I guess that's all I have for the time being. I better go finish the dishes and put some socks on because my feet are cold.

Until next we meet...

Bird, Bird, Bird...Bird is the Word

Happy Turkey Day, everybody!

Just a quick spot to say I hope everyone has a good one and has a lot to be thankful for. I sure do this year. I couldn't say that before, but now I'm confident that I can.
We're going to celebrate with Rose's family, which will be the first time I spend Thanksgiving away from home. It's kind of weird, but I think it'll be a good change.
One day, when I'm all established and have a family, I want to be able to have big Thanksgivings at my house. That will be the ultimate thanks.

Everyone eat til you're in pain and enjoy being with your families!

Glückliche Danksagung!

I Smell Good

Hey, I'm posting again and it hasn't even been 2 months since my last one...you should be proud of me. I'm being consistent.
So, Rose's birthday went off without a hitch. We celebrated on Friday cuz I got paid so I could afford the dinner I took her out to. I bought her some pretty jewelry and Brain Age 2 for DS. She likes it and so do I.
We went to Ipanema in Seattle. A really neat Brazilian restaurant where they serve you meat on a skewer right at your table. They come around with different kinds and they just carve it for ya right there. That's my kinda eatin'. Needless to say, I ate so much I was physically in pain, but it's a good pain. As the Joker once said, if you're gonna go, go with a smile.

I've been moving my stuff into Rose's place, so I'm living over there now. My computer and furniture and everything is still at the house, but I go pack a little bit everyday, so hopefully I'll be completely moved in in a couple of weeks. It's pretty nice finally moving out. It's been long overdue.
I need to run by the post office and pick up a change of address card.

We're FINALLY going to see Quantum of Solace tonight (excited!) as we just got through all 21 Bond films. It was fun sharing those with her and I'm glad she liked them.

I've begun saving up for a sick Blu-ray setup. I think I'll start buying older movies on Blu-ray. Just kind of casually replace some of my DVD's and getting ones that I haven't picked up yet. I'll still have to buy new releases on DVD for a while though, but depending on the movie, I may upgrade later on down the road. I won't replace every movie I have, just major ones.

I have to work over the holiday weekend. I'm not looking forward to that. I have to work Friday through Tuesday, so I'm gonna be dead tired. I'll probably end up going to bed before 7 until I get a day off.

I've been thinking about playing WoW again, just casually. Nothing like I used to do. Maybe a couple hours a day when I don't have any homework or anything else to do. Just thinking about it.

Well, I suppose that's it for now. I added a couple new widgets to my blog here, so go ahead and be a follower and subscribe to my blog so I don't have to keep telling everyone when I post a new one.

Until Dr. Doom sells facial cream door-to-door, Make Mine Marvel.

You Want This...Don't You?

Well, I've been 30 for about a week and a half and I don't feel that much different...except when I wake up in the morning and my joints sound like Rice Crispies. I do notice now how much older I am than a lot of people I work with and how close in age I am to my supervisors which is good or bad depending on how you look at it. But, luckily, in the world of geeks, everyone's pretty much familiar with everything, so someone will usually know what show or movie you're talking about...and I work with a lotta geeks.

Rose's birthday is Thursday, but we're gonna have to celebrate on Friday or Saturday because that's when I get paid and it's easier to do nice things when you have money to waste.

I gotta finish packing and start bringing stuff over to Rose's. I took down a lot of my posters and packed up most of my books. I think we'll try to rearrange the living room so that we have an idea of where stuff is going. We'll be getting rid of her old entertainment center, so if anyone is interested, let me know.

Let's see...what else?

Well, I guess that's it for now. I'll probably be out for a couple of days soon when I have to dismantle my computer (I can feel the anxiety already) but you probably won't hardly notice since I've been posting rather sporadically lately anyway, but humor me and say you'll miss me.

Later, Peaches.

Brian: Part 3

Welp, as you may or may not know, I just entered my third decade on this earth on Sunday. It hasn't really hit me yet that I'm not in my 20's anymore. My 20's weren't exactly the best for me. I had a lot of rough times during that 10 years and things didn't start shaping up until my last year. I started school, got a job and met my wonderful lady Rose...in that order.
Now that I've started my 30's, I'm more optimistic about my life, whereas in my 20's, I was a bit of a fatalist and didn't see any light at the end of the tunnel. I feel kinda gypped because your 20's are supposed to be fun, but mine were not.
I had a lot of experiences in my 20's that helped shape who I am now, which is a good thing I guess. I made a lot of mistakes that I've learned from. I think I'm wiser and more responsible now, so I guess it wasn't all bad. It just seemed like that at the time.
Anyway, I had a good birthday. We didn't really do anything too exciting. Just had a small little party at home on Saturday and then went out for dinner at the Jasmine Mongolian Grill in Federal Way on Sunday.
I got some pretty cool presents. Rose bought me one of those Crosley record players you see everywhere. I've been wanting one for a while, so I was happy about that. She also got me a cool Dark Knight LP with Batman on one side and the Joker on the other. She also got me these two cool little pictures of Elvis and Rocky. And she's taking me to California next year, but I'm not sure exactly where we're going. She told me via this cool little puzzle that she used with movie trivia. I only missed two questions. So, I'm pretty excited about that trip! I just gotta save up some money.
Work is going well, but we're terribly understaffed, so every week after we get caught up, we get backed up again the next day. That's pretty frustrating, but I'm trying not to let it get to me. They don't pay me enough to stress about it. That's my boss' job.
Let's see, what else...not much else going on. Just packing my stuff getting ready to move.
That's about it for now, my friends.

I'll update again soon.

Movin' On Up....

Hey, Guys and Gals...

Well, we got a lot to go through, so let's get started.

First off, I got a new phone...a Samsung Alias...just like Rose's! She put me on her family plan, so now I have a GOOD phone. With that, I also have a new number, so if you'd like to keep in touch via the wireless airwaves, just shoot me an email and I'll send it to ya.

Secondly, I shall be moving in with Rose come November. That's right, I'm finally getting out on my own (sort of) with a very special lady. We've been talking about it for a while now and we decided on it this past weekend. Then, come April, we're gonna look for a new place, probably a house to rent. I'm just gonna be moving a few items over there...clothes, computer, desk, table, movies, etc. I'm not taking most of my tubs in the garage. I'm just gonna leave them here.
I think it'll be good. It's time for me to get the heck outta Dodge and set up roots somewhere new.
Now, I just have to not lose my job.

School's going well. Just plugging along.

Work is going well now that we've gotten all that backstock outta the store. They had people from other stores helping this past weekend. Tomorrow, the store unofficially opens. It's a special day for employees and their friends and families to come shop and then Wednesday, people are coming in. Our official grand opening is October 12th, so come and shop! You'll be helping to pay my salary...

That's about it for now...I need to get some drawing done...

Lataz...

It's Full of Stars...

Well, I figured I'd take a break from homework to write a new blog. I think it's well overdue, we have lots to talk about. Let's get started, shall we?

I've been plowing away at my job at Target. I've been there for about a month now and I think it's going well. I'm learning the job and I'm getting a lot of recognition for the work that I do, which is good. That was one problem in my previous jobs, that I would work my ass off and not get any credit for it.
It's a little frustrating at work right now, however, because we have too much product and not enough room for it all. They push everything they can on the sales floor, then whatever is left over gets sent back to us. Well, the problem is that we're not equipped to store that amount of volume and now we're starting to overflow. Then the powers-that-be complain that we're not stocking fast enough. It seems to me that they're a little out of touch with how it is back there. That's really my only complaint at the moment. It's only temporary, hopefully. Once customers start buying stuff we'll get a lot of it out of there and we can stock the way we're supposed to.

A couple weeks ago, I took Rose to the fair. She'd never been there, but she had a good time. We only got to go on two rides cuz the tickets are so friggin' expensive and each ride is about 5 or 6 tickets. We looked at all the exhibits, bought some stuff, split an earthquake burger and had a darn good time. We took the bus, so we didn't have to deal with parking. We'll probably just do the bus from now on.

School is going well. I'm doing my best to keep up while working. I'm contemplating taking 3 classes, but I dunno if I'll be spreading myself too thin.

Now that I'm working regularly, I wanna try and work on my freelance work. Doing simple things like illustrations, business cards, tattoo designs, etc. just to make a little extra money on the side. So, if you or anyone is interested, let me know. I'm not quite ready to do websites yet, but hopefully I will be soon. I still have to work on my own site.

Well, I guess that's it for now. Time to get back to the homework.

Until we meet again...

Tales of a Workin' Man...

So, today was my first day of my new job at Target. Overall, I think it well. Got myself all settled. I got a little confused on the break schedule since most of the new people were there at 4am and I didn't have to come in til 6am. But, we figured it out for tomorrow...
Basically, we just pull out all the merch that sold yesterday first...that gets priority...then after that, we put everything away in their appropriate area...it's all pretty straightforward.
Later in the day, we had to put away some stuff that is to be sent back to the manufacturer, but we put it in a weird place, so tomorrow, I gotta fix it...that oughta be fun...
I think I'll probably enjoy the job...everyone seems pretty nice, even after my relatively minor screw up...we'll see how the rest of training goes...

I did start getting a headache about 11-ish and I forgot my medicine...I think I just need to carry a little water bottle with me or something...

That's about it...it's not exactly brain surgery...I think I'll get the hang of it before training is done...

In other news, I saw a cool idea I wanna do...drawing pictures on long box lids...for those who aren't geeks such as myself, a long box is the big, long, white box that geeks store their comic books in...I think I'm gonna draw cool characters on top of mine and perhaps see if other geeks want the same thing...I think it'd be cool...

That's it for today, my darlings...

Check in for next time...

Rainy Day Fun With Republicans...

So, yesterday, Rose and I went to Key Arena for this business motivation seminar thing...which actually was more like a religious, republican, sales gathering. There were some pretty cool speakers...Terry Bradshaw, Colin Powell, Suze Orman, Rudy Guiliani...they had some cool things to say...of course, Guiliani had to bust out with the anti-left rhetoric as Republicans tend to do...oh, and someone heckled Colin Powell...
Suze Orman had some good financial advice...and she didn't even try to sell me anything...there were a couple of guys there who were hocking financial seminars after a big fundamental demonstration of what you really need to get started...which I may use.
The seminars, of course, were on sale...they were like a 500% discount...that's an exaggeration, of course...I didn't bother to do the math...it was quite a price cut though...One seminar was marked down from $5,000 to $99...and the other was about $1,500 down to $49...and the suckers poured from the stands...
Oh, and they spouted Jesus and how much they love America and the military...because, as you know, Democrats don't love America or the military because they want to change things...
Anyway, I think that's enough of the rant...I didn't hate it or anything...it was quite entertaining and I got some good info...

Rose and I cut out early because I think they were about to sell us something else...so we went to the Fun Forest and rode the roller coaster in the rain...that was exhilarating and frightening all at the same time...
Then, we were gonna go see the X-Files at a theater downtown, but I got confused about which theater to go to, so we just headed home...

Traffic was friggin' horrid...I don't think I've ever seen it that bad...

In other news, tomorrow is my first day of training for my new Target job...I'm looking forward to it, but also nervous as hell...I hope it doesn't suck and that I don't let myself down...

I'm working on some stuff to start my new art blog...so, keep an eye out for that...

I guess that's it for now...

So, until Dr. Doom sells face cream door-to-door, Make Mine Marvel!

W-O-R-D Up!

Hello, my sweet ones...

It's been a long-o while since I last posted...I can only attribute that to part busyness and part just being a lazy sod.

Quite a bit has happened since last we saw each other...I've been doing school stuff...that's going not too shabbily...and the big news...

I GOT A JOB!

That's right...I have acquired employment with the Target corporation. I'm a day stocker...a very early day stocker. My day will begin at 4am and conclude around noon. I had my orientation on Thursday and I start my training on Wednesday bright and early 6am in Federal Way...I was kinda hoping they'd give me Bonney Lake since that one's only about 5 minutes from my house.
So, yes, I'll be a workin' man...I'll be able to get some bills paid, save up to move out, buy comics regularly again, buy DVD's and keep up on my Star Wars figures.
Speaking of which, I think I may start a Star Wars figure blog just for shits and giggles...I know, I have trouble keeping up on my regular ones, how am I gonna handle 3 or 4? Very carefully, that's how.

I'm gonna start doing my art blog and then I'll work on the action figure blog a little bit later. I'll keep ya posted...

I saw The Clone Wars the other day. All in all, I liked it. Granted, it was geared more towards kids, but that doesn't bother me as it does some other asshat fanboys who seem to have taken it as a personal affront to them that Lucas would have the audacity to make a cartoon for kids...imagine that.
Some of it kinda bugged me a bit, but not enough to take away from the enjoyment of it. That's just a little extreme...
Anyway, I won't rant about Star Wars here...that shall be for another more deserving time...I'm always open to a discussion though if anyone wants to email me...

Anyway, that's about it for now...I shall keep you posted on how it goes with the new job, my countless blogs and any other developments that should happen to cross my path...

Until we meet again....

Busy Little Bee...

I have been one lately. School, friends, girlfriend, home, other stuff...it keeps you on your toes. I'm just trying to maintain some composure and to avoid flipping my proverbial lid.
School is going ok. I got a little behind last week, but I think I can make up the difference. Last weekend was busy...I didn't get to do everything I had planned. I won't go into any details, but I was stressed out.
I did, however, manage to get to see The Dark Knight...holee shit, that movie rocks hard. I won't lay out a review here right now. Partly because I'm lazy and partly because I can't really say anything about the film that you probably haven't heard already. Yes, it's the best Batman film. Yes, Heath Ledger deserves an Oscar.

I got commissioned to do some artwork. I guess the guy is some eccentric millionaire comic geek or something. He has a blog where he posts all these multi-verse team pictures that he's had other artists do for him. I got an email from the guy the other day saying that he wanted to pay me to do one and gave me the link to his site...I told him I could do it for $100 and he said "Let's do!" So, I just gotta pick some different characters from different comic companies from this list he made and do an homage to a classic team cover, also on the list. He didn't give me a deadline or anything, so I guess I just do it at my liesure. I think I should ask for a down payment first, just to make sure the guy is legit.

On a semi-related note, I have a job interview tomorrow at Kits Cameras in Federal Way. It's just for a sales associate position, but it's something. I think I have enough knowledge of and interest in photography to do well. We'll see how it goes.

So, I'm thinking of starting an art blog. Just showcasing the stuff I've done in the past and also new stuff as I make it available. Let's see a show of hands...should I start a whole new blog just for that or should I just do it here, mingled in with my regular blog posts? Lemme know what you think...

Welp, that's all for now, meine kleine lieblings.

Until we meet again...

Where You At, Foo'?

It's been a while since I posted last. I've just been so friggin' busy lately that I haven't had much time to do much of anything.
We went to a couple of baseball games...The Tacoma Rainiers at the end of June, which I think I already wrote about, and Seattle Mariners on July 5...they played the Detroit Tigers...which I think is kind of ironic since the last major league baseball game I went to was a Detroit Tigers game when I was about 10 or so...and this was my first Mariners game ever and my first major league game since that trip to Tiger Stadium oh so many moons ago...just kind of an odd coincidence I thought was worth mentioning...

My 4th of July was pretty fun...we went to Rose's uncle's lake house near Shelton...we hung out by the fire...I kept getting smoke blown in my face...and had some yummy bbq...Rose and I went swimming...we wanted to go out on the inner tube things and dragged behind a boat at 50 or 60 miles per hour, but they didn't have any life jackets big enough...but I got to ride in the boats, so that was fun...
Oh, and their neighbor owns a real life steamboat and he took us for a ride...that was pretty cool...I posted a few pictures on my myspace page, so feel free to check them out...
We were gonna stay for fireworks, but we had a busy day the next day, so we left early...we got all the way to Puyallup (Rose had another Slurpee and jalapeno taquito craving) and realized that she left her purse...so, we had to drive all the way back and then come home...we didn't get home til around 2 am...but, it was a fun day...

So, that was my holiday...other than that, I've just been doing school and still looking for work...I've put in a ton of applications, but no luck so far...I'm getting quite stressed out...I'm ready to get on with my life, but to do that without any money is nigh impossible...just gotta keep chuggin' away, I guess...

Anyway, that's about it for now...I'll try to find more time to post more often...

Until next time, my pets....

Thank You, Sir, May I Have Another?!

Long time since my last post...I've been so freakin' busy lately, I feel kind of overwhelmed and stretched out...

So, let's see...we went to see Get Smart...it was pretty freakin' hilarious...definitely gonna buy that one on the ol' digital versatile disc...
We have yet to see Wall-E...and then Hellboy 2 next week...and The Dark Knight the week after that...those are the must sees this summer...we're gonna see Batman on the regular screen then we're gonna go see it in IMAX...

We went to a Tacoma Rainiers game last weekend...they played the Salt Lake Bees and kicked their asses...10-3...though Rose was rooting for Salt Lake and their catcher who she thought was cute...it was a fun time and a good game...
I have some pictures, I'll post a few in the next few days hopefully...
This weekend we're going to see the Mariners play the Tigers...should be good...I'll have plenty of pics from that too...

Well, I had a job interview on Monday for a graphic design job here in town...needless to say, I don't think it went very well...I don't think she was too impressed with me or my work...I always botch it in interviews...I practice how to answer and then I get on the spot and freeze up...I don't think I'm good enough right now for a graphic design job...
I'm pissed because I spent $20 just to print out some stuff for my portfolio...Rose bought me a new shirt and tie...and my mom bought me a portfolio and a case...I really had a good feeling...before the interview...
She kept bringing up my comic stuff as if it was a detriment...everytime I've gone in to an interview for a job like that, they turn my comic stuff against, suggesting that that's all I can do or that's all I want to do...it kinda pisses me off...I try to turn it positive and say that there's a lot of graphic design in comics and that graphic design experience would help with my comics down the line, but I don't think that gets their attention...
I guess it's back to the drawing board...

I'm just kind of depressed right now...it seems like I can't get a job I would do well at, only shit jobs that I can't physically do...it's very frustrating and it makes me mad...

Maybe I should step up the comic stuff...

It's been hot.

I guess I should finish cleaning up...

I shall report again later...

We'll Do it Live!

Heh heh...I love that video of Bill O'Reilly just mentally shitting himself on camera...

Not much new to speak of today...saw The Incredible Hulk last night...T'was pretty awesome, indeed...looks like Marvel's back in the game...maybe they should just remake all (or at least most) of their past movies and tie them all in together...I can't wait to see what they do next...

I've been drawing and working on some stuff that I'll post here in the coming weeks...

Other than that, not much new really...

I lead an exciting life...

See ya next time, True Believers...

What Year is It?

So, I obviously haven't posted in a few days...it's been busy lately...doin' stuff with Rose, finishing up the quarter for school, job hunting, doing art work, working on top-secret government projects...oops, I wasn't supposed to mention that...Anyway, I guess I blew it on the blog 365 thing...oh, well...Now it'll be blog 360...

I have a few job prospects lined up...a job at the Bonney Lake library...I've applied for the same job at a different branch before...hopefully I get a little further in the process this time...Then, there's a job fair on the 21st that I plan on attending...hopefully something comes of that...
This jobless stuff sucks balls...I'm getting sick of it and it's starting to severely affect my life in more ways than one...it's kind of pissing me off a bit...

Anyway, enough about that...what else?

Nothing else much...I finished that research paper...not sure what my grade is, but I think my teacher liked it, so I think I'll get a decent grade on it...I let Rose edit it cuz she likes that kind of thing...I know, weird...

Did I mention I've been reading Harry Potter? Well, I'm almost finished with the first book...I gotta finish it by June 30...I'm sure I'll finish before then...then I'm gonna check out the next one...and The Watchmen if they have it...I need to read it...as a self-proclaimed geek, I should have read it some time ago...I'm a slacker...

My mom and her friend are setting up a garage sale, so I'm getting together some stuff to sell...just getting rid of some stuff I don't want/need anymore...got some double DVD's I need to get rid of...I'm still looking through stuff so I'm sure I'll find more...

Stan Winston passed away...it's sad that all the greats are leaving us...we won't get anymore cool practical robots or dinosaurs or aliens anymore...that guy was the master of his craft...I believe I need to watch The Terminator, Jurassic Park and Predator in his memory...

Aaaaaand, I think that's all I have going on for now....

Until we meet again, True Believers...

Uh Oh, It's Green...

Not much new today...just worked on my research paper, which Rose was kind enough to look over for me...actually, she's been dying to look at it because she has some weird fetish for research papers and the like...I think she likes paperwork too much...it won't be a great paper, but at least it will LOOK like a great paper...

I've been trying to get back into a drawing groove...I've been kind of as I like to say "creatively constipated"...so I've just been doodling to get back into a flow, so I can start doing some decent stuff...

What else? Just doing some more job hunting...tweaked my resume a bit today...just reorganized it a bit, didn't really add much new stuff to it...

I started reading Harry Potter...Rose has been clamoring for me to read it...I really dig the movies and she's hardcore for it, so she's excited for me to start reading...I've been slightly interested in reading it, but it was something I could just get around to whenever I got around to it...

So, I went to the library, got a new card, checked out the large type copy of the first book because that's all they had left...I got partway through chapter 3 last night...I got a little further in the middle of the night because I had a bout of diarrhea...that's always fun...
I'm liking the book...it's a fun read...I look forward to reading some more...hopefully, I'll finish the series before the final movie comes out...

Other than that, I'm just trying to stay sane...

Off I go to read some more...

Kickin' It Old School, Part 2...

So, on Friday, Rose and I went to the Drive-In and saw a Kung Fu Panda/Iron Man double feature, though she didn't stay up for Iron Man...oh, well, at least I got to see it again...

'Twas fun, indeed...I haven't been to a drive-in since many moons past...I was surprised that many people still go...it's kinda nice that a piece of American history like that still exists...

Saturday, we did jack squat...

Sunday, we went to a park, ate pizza, then we rolled down a big hill and landed in a puddle that had formed at the bottom...

All in all, a pretty good weekend...

Where's Summer?

Time for bed and it's not even 10 o'clock yet...

I'm gettin' old...

Rose and I roasted marshmallows over presto logs in the fireplace tonight...yes, that's how it is in Washington...we can make a fire in June and it won't be hot...

Kickin' It Old School, Part 1

Tonight, Rose and I are going to a drive-in...that's right...a drive-in...I haven't been to one since I was a kid...the last flick I saw at a drive-in was Terminator 2...that's been awhile...I didn't think they had any around here anymore, but lo and behold, there's one in Kent...

Tonight's features are Kung Fu Panda and Iron Man...I saw Iron Man already and it kicked ass, so it'll be neat to see it outside...

I'll report tomorrow on the whole experience...

And now...off we go...

It's Time to Upgrade...

I found my next major computer purchase...well, a couple of them actually...

The first one is a new hard drive...and I know the one I want...it's 7200 RPM and it's 1 TERABYTE! That's right...a Tera-fucking-byte...that's hot...

And the other is a Blu-ray DVD-Rom drive...

Right here...

Pretty nice, eh?

They even have a blu-ray burner, but that's later on down the road...

Now, all I need to do is find a pesky job....

It's All Fun and Games Until Someone Loses a Race...

Well, I've been getting myself organized this week...the new furniture and room change has benefited me well thus far...I can find things more easily and I'm getting rid of some stuff I don't really need anymore...I have a lot left to do though...

Fuck, I have a lot of clothes...

So, it's now Barack Obama vs John McCain (aka Grampy McSame, thanks to the Stephanie Miller Show)...I'm glad Hillary lost...I'm all for a woman president, but she's not the ideal candidate for that...she tells people what they want to hear and she makes promises she can't keep...I'm not sure about this idea of her being a running mate...the jury is still out on that one...
And she still thinks she can get the nomination...she didn't even take it like a man and concede yesterday even after knowing she lost...good grief...

And John McCain is Bush 2...he's old and creepy and spews the same Bush rhetoric...Republicans have done a bang up job of running this country into the ground...I think it's time to let the Democrats try and get it back...

Politics are fun!

Let's see...what else is new...

Oh, I have a few art projects I'm working on...gonna do some Masters of the Universe sketches...and work on my Star Wars mural some more...and I'm working on some ideas for a new web comic...

So, all of that on top of school and looking for work...I'm trying to stay a busy fellow...

I'll update more as it happens...

I shall leave you with Keith Olbermann's take on Hillary Clinton...enjoy!

Damn My Bad Memory....

I almost let another blog go by....I'm supposed to be doing this for a year straight through...if I slip now, I have to start all over...

In other news, I had KFC for dinner and I got laid...

I'll report on the rest of my day tomorrow...

A Change of Surroundings...

So, I spent this weekend changing my surroundings, i.e. my bedroom. I got new furniture and switched everything around. Moved my bed to the opposite wall, facing North now instead of West...moved my desk along the same wall, just next to my closet now...
I have new bookshelves along the wall that my bed used to be on and my class display case (which needs a major cleaning) is now along the same wall.

Now, it looks a little something like this...

This is good because I've needed to do this for awhile...I never did either because of a lack of desire or laziness or both...but, now I'm getting organized...getting all my books in some semblance of order, weeded out a bunch of clothes, went through all my cd's and games...keeping most, selling the rest...

So, I'm just trying to get organized and such, so that when I start working again, I won't be so behind and I can get some work done in an orderly environment, etc...

I think I'll start feeling better once I get all re-settled....

Oh, and 10 more days til The Incredible Hulk...

A Sad Day...

First Sydney Pollack now this...

Harvey Korman passed away today...

Fuck...all the good ones are leaving us...

Today's Post...

Yes, this is today's post...

Not much to say...just been working on some creative projects...I have a big one I've been working, but won't say right now exactly what it is...

Just been doing homework...I have a 10 to 15 page research paper to write...I love those things (he said with sarcastic contempt)...I'm writing it about something that interests me (which I suppose is half the point) so it won't be completely draining.

Other than that, not much happenin'...welcome to my life...

I'll talk to ya soon...

Have a Goal, Man!

So, I joined this thing called Blog 365...it's a project where you have to blog for a whole year, everyday...I don't think you get a prize, just a sense of accomplishment...
I actually joined last Friday, but I forgot I was going out of town, so it didn't officially start until yesterday...

It'll give me something to shoot for...I'm trying to give myself small goals to achieve just for my own personal satisfaction and to try and give myself some motivation to get stuff done...

So, everyday, I'll post something new, funny stuff I find, things from my day, etc. So, stay tuned and lemme know you stopped by!

I Don't Wanna Touch Your Masturbation...

So, I'm back from my little mini-vacation...not really a vacation for me, more for Rose...we'll call it a "getaway"....
Anyhoo...It was a nice trip...We went to Pt. Townsend and stayed at the Belmont Inn...walked around town, did some shopping, etc. Then we went to Ft. Warden, this cool former army base during WW2...we walked around the gun battery on the coast...it was pretty impressive...I can imagine what it looked like when it was operational...

We sat and watched the sunset on the beach looking out at the San Juan Islands...pretty impressive looking...

Then the next day, we went to Ft. Flagler on Marrowstone Island in Puget Sound...that place was pretty cool...we went on a hike along the beach looking for the numerous gun batteries left over...I believe there were about 6 of them all on one island...but, we missed the trail that takes you near them...we were on the beach, they were all on the bluff above us...so, next time we're gonna find the trail...lol

We had a little picnic and grilled some hot dogs over hot coals...it was nice...

We took some pictures which will be posted soon...

All-in-all, a nice, adventurous weekend...I look forward to doing it again soon...

2 Day Sabattical...

I'm goin' outta town for the Memorial Day weekend...Rose rented us a room at this hotel in Pt. Townsend...looks like a pretty nice place...should be a good weekend...I need to buy a new sketchbook...the sunny weather has gotten the creative juices flowing again, so I need to jot down those ideas before I forget...

I shall return on Tuesday and tell ya all about it and post pics and whatnot...

Enjoy the weekend and make sure you remember those who died so you can go outta town this weekend.

Indiana Jones Strikes Back!

I'm sure you've been hearing all the whiny fanboys ranting about how terrible the movie is...well, that's their opinion and they're entitled to it.
But, it certainly is a shame that they can't just sit back and enjoy this movie for what it is...a damn fun movie to watch.

Is it a perfect movie? No, of course not. Is it a good movie? Hell yes. Would I see it again? You betcha.

First off, this ain't yo' daddy's Indiana Jones. This is Indy in a new era. It's Indy right smack dab in the middle of the Cold War. He's a victim of McCarthyism. It's Indy in the atomic age. It's Indy being awesome again.
This movie is very different from the other films, but it certainly deserves to be put alongside them. I would liken this one to Temple of Doom for its sheer crazyness and serial feel.

I won't really go into details about the story, but I will comment on some elements that I've noticed people have taken issue with. First of all, it's nice to see Indy going after something other than a religious artifact. He is an archaeologist, first and foremost. Archaeologists study artifacts. They uncover the history of the artifact and study its origins. No matter what it is. That's what they do. Indy just happens to come across some crazy shit most of the time. This one is no exception.
Personally, I like this whole angle. It takes Indy to something new.

I really loved the opening of the film. By far, my favorite opening of them all. Also, my favorite ending. The last scene is, if this indeed is the last film, a perfect end to the series.

Yes, there are some silly moments and I can understand how someone may cringe at them, but to hate the whole movie because of a few silly moments? That, my friend, is silly. They've mentioned some "far-fetched" moments. Haven't all the films had far-fetched moments? Even the precious Raiders.
People often forget, these films are homages to the serials of the 1930's (Much like the Star Wars films). Most of those films featured events that were pretty outlandish, but never took themselves too seriously. They were just there for people who loved escapism. That's what Indy is.

Everyone wants to compare this to Raiders of the Lost Ark and that really isn't fair. It's a different movie. That movie was something special that probably could never be duplicated. You just want to see the characters again and see what messes they can get into and that's what we've gotten. And they were all fun.

I've also heard people bitching about the amount of CGI in this movie. I really don't understand this hatred for CGI. We've lived it for nigh on 20 years and people are STILL complaining about it. Actually, I've noticed they only complain about it when it's a sequel to a movie that originally used old-school effects. Star Wars and, now, Indy. Get over it. Those films used just as many effects, just using different tools. It really is a Catch-22. If they had used old blue screen models and matte paintings, people would say it looks fake. If they use CGI, it's too much CGI. It really irks me. I'm a big fan of CGI and these movies would be very difficult to do without it. Sure, they can over do it sometimes and one can argue that for this picture, but it's really a lame excuse to hate a movie.

Well, that's my two cents. All in all, I freaking love this movie. I wanna see it again. Go see it, take the kids. It's rated PG-13, but I have no idea why. It's less violent than Raiders.

Welcome back, Indy. We missed you.

Ah, To Be a Geek...

So, I had a dream last night that I was shopping for action figures. GI Joe in particular. The store I went to had like 5 aisles of GI Joe figures of all kinds. But, I couldn't decide which ones to buy.

This isn't the first time I've had a dream like this.

I'm Still Alive, I Swear...

Yeah, it's been a few weeks since my last post. I've been a tad busy with life and such...I'll try to recap in no particular order...

My citizen's academy has come to an end. It was a good month and a half...lots of fun, very informative and I've realized that I don't think I could do the job of a cop...those guys are tough, sharp and really know what they're doing...I have a whole new kind of respect for them.
I did get tazered though...that was actually kinda fun...and I just happen to have a video of it...

Last Saturday, we got to drive the police cars and go to the firearms simulator...those police cars really have some get up...so make sure not to try and outrun them because you probably won't be able to...and the firearms simulator...well, let's just say I need more practice...I guess all those years of video games really have no practical application...but, I'll keep playing anyway...

Tonight is the graduation dinner...I believe (read I hope) we get a little certificate and we do get a special prize for having perfect attendance...should be fun...and we're all pitching in and giving the officers Starbucks gift cards and a little plaque with our names and group photo...should be fun...

I'm going to put in an application to volunteer with the police department...I think that would be fun...

We did another round of photography...I'll post those as soon as I get around to it...

I've been making a few bucks here and there doing things I can't talk about...so I'm saving up for a PS3 or a 360...I'm leaning more towards the 360...though it's about $200 more because I'm not getting that BS bare bones system...that just seems like a waste...

So, that's pretty much what I've been up to lately...
I'll be sure to keep up on the updating more regularly...

Peace out, home slices...

It's Not Mine...I Swear...

Well, I'm back from house sitting...actually, I was back on Saturday, but I had a busy few days, so this is the first chance I got to do a new post...

House sitting went pretty well...I always have a good time over there...I just watch movies all day and hang out with a bunch of dogs and cats...

Surprisingly, I was able to even get my homework finished...I did the majority of it a couple of days before I left, so all I had to do was post in the discussion threads which I could easily do at the house...just had to make sure I made the time...I also went to my police classes too...I just had to leave a lot earlier...

Speaking of that, we had the K9 officers come in finally...that was pretty cool...everyone was looking forward to that...and it was well worth the wait...they discussed the training the dogs have to go through and all that good stuff...these were very well trained and disciplined dogs...it was very cool...everyone was all excited and happy....and then, they busted out with the domestic violence class and brought everybody down...but, it was still a good class =P

I got $150 for house sitting, so I bought a few items that I've been eyeing for a while...I got one of those moss bags...those "man purses" as they've been referred to since I've had it...it's pretty handy to have....I don't have to lug around my backpack everywhere...I can't hold my big sketch book in it though, but I can put my regular size one in there...if I wanna bring my big one, I just have to carry it separately.
I got a few other odds and ends...went to Hot Topic looking for a new wallet, but I didn't see any that I liked...I'll check back in a few weeks and see what I can find...
I also picked up Cloverfield...I haven't bought any dvd's in a couple months, so I thought I should get at least one...I haven't really bought much of any collection stuff lately...no star wars figures, no dvd's (save for yesterday's purchase), no comics, no WW2 stuff...
I've been doing some job searching...I had an interview at Petco yesterday...they're opening a new one 5 minutes from my house, so I'm trying to get in there, so I could just ride a bike to work instead of driving...of course, I'd have to drive until I could afford the bike...heh heh...so, they'll be calling people Monday for second interviews. Wish me luck.

I think that's all that's going on right now...I gotta remember to get my mom a mother's day/birthday gift...that'll give me a reason to go back to World Market for more than just that flask...heh

Until we meet again...

I shall remain...

The Eye of the Beholder...

So, I spent the weekend with m'lady...we had a good time, but the highlight was going to the park and taking pictures...It was a special experience...I now know that I've been bitten by the photography bug...I would like to dabble in the art of photography...At the moment, I'm lacking equipment...The camera we used was Rose's, so I can only dabble when I see her...It would be nice to have a good camera to use when we aren't able to be with each other...

So, without further ado, go check out my Deviantart page to see what we accomplished...
I only posted the creme de la creme...to see more check out my Myspace page.

I really look forward to dabbling more into photography and perhaps pimp myself out and sell some prints when I get better...

In other news, tomorrow I will be housesitting until Saturday, as I stated before...that's all I have to say about that...

I also saw one of my cats lick the other's butt...

Lick. It.

Gross.

With that, I shall take my leave. Keep in touch, True Believers!

Me vs. The Weather Master vs. Hillary...

Hey, True Believers!

(You don't mind if I use that from now on, do you, Stan?)

I had another week of my Citizen's Academy...it's been pretty fun and interesting lately. Yesterday, we had the local municipal court judge talk to us about the local court system. It was pretty informative...and the court here is open to the public, so I may go check it out sometime. If it's anything like "Night Court", I'll be there all the time!
We were supposed to have the K-9 officers talk to us yesterday, but there was a scheduling problem and it got postponed to another week...so, we just talked about block watches and what we can do to protect ourselves from theft and the like and what we should do to help facilitate the return of stolen items. Good times!

So, what's up with this weather? It was fucking snowing today! It's the middle of fucking April! Of course, 5 minutes later it was sunny again...

W-T-F, man...

W.
T.
F.

I am determined to find the mad scientist who keeps mucking with our weather. I'm convinced there's a person of Super-Villain stature at work here...and I shall expose him.

My mom mentioned that she's supporting Hillary Clinton now...what is the world coming to?
My family is against me in my fight for a Hillary-free election.

I forgot a couple of items to get at the store the other day. I wanted to buy a notebook to write down story ideas I get on the road and a small little sketch diary for the same. Next time I'm out I'll pick those up.

I will be house-sitting next week for my mom's friend. I believe I've spoken about the house before...it's pretty awesome...I look forward to it...and they pay me pretty well for living in their house for a week, taking care of their sometimes overly affectionate ( but still cute anyway) dogs. Should be good times. I will be broadcasting live from the house all next week (well, Tuesday thru Saturday), so be sure to catch all the exciting action.

Ok, I think that's it for the now. See ya next time!

A Guy Walks Into a Store...

I bought some stuff at the store yesterday...how exciting is that? Not exactly a noteworthy post, but things have been kinda slow today and I haven't posted in a few days, so I thought I should write something...

So, here's what I bought...

1. A little, cheap dayplanner.
2. A bag of pens.
3. Deodorant.
4. Shaving Cream.
5. A metal light switch plate.

I oughta have some fun with that stuff!

I Love America

I filed my taxes yesterday...hopefully I did them properly...I used Turbo Tax (.com)...they have this cool little feature that calculates your refund as you go along...turns out, I'll be getting about $858 back PLUS $300 for the rebate everyone gets...
I guess that useless economic stimulus package isn't so bad after all...

I figure I'll save it after I buy a few choice items...

Such as a Utilikit and a couple of DVD sets, like this one...

A Whole New World...

So, yesterday, Rose and I went to World Market...I'd never been there before...I loved it...
She went there to get this cool little dish set with a little caddy...it was cute...
While I was there, I found this bitchin' flask that I wanna buy...It's silver and...metal...anyway, it's pretty neat...I've been wanting one for a long time...yes, I know I don't drink, but it's cool just to have one...it's one of those guy things...every man should own one...much like a zippo lighter...which I used to have, but I lost, so I'm on the lookout for a new one...

I also found Coppola wine...which I should buy as I'm a movie geek...I looked for Skywalker Ranch wine, but they didn't have any...I guess I'll just have to buy that online...

On a side note, I think my cat pissed in my room somewhere, but I can't find it...

I intend to do some serious drawing this week and work on my homework...

You All Promote Yourselves Better...

I've been trying to get people to buy stuff related to my artwork, but nobody really seems interested...I don't think I'm promoting myself well enough...I don't know enough geeks...I've been trying to get more involved in the geek communities, but haven't been very successful...I joined a couple of message boards and such, but I don't hang out with enough geeks...
If I had money, I'd go hang out at Comic Book Ink in Tacoma...I've been having comic withdrawals...I miss buying my comics...I don't really have anyone to discuss them with anyway...
I've been wanting to draw some sketch cards, but I'm not sure how to go about getting the word out so that people would want to buy them...I know there are people out there who love that stuff, but I have yet to find them...
I'm working on some art projects that will hopefully help pimp me out, so we'll see how that goes...In the meantime, I continue the search for more geek friends...

Citizen's Academy Part 1

Well, I've had 3 classes at the Citizen's Academy...they've been fun so far...we've just been learning about the law and how to spot a crime and how to deal with them, etc.
Yesterday, we got to do mock scenes where we played the officers going on a few calls and trying to deal with them.
The first one was a drunk guy walking in the middle of the street. We kinda failed that one miserably because we let him go and we walked back in to traffic and got hit by a car. But, we weren't getting graded or anything, but the officer would talk to us about what we did and such.
The next call was a domestic violence, where the woman threw a piece of wood at the guy, so she went to jail. We did a little better at that one. We just needed to keep them separated a little more.
The third one was a woman coming in to the PD wanting to report a theft. I got that she was acting kinda funny by her body language and such and she kept changing her story, etc. We did pretty good at that one, but there was one major piece of the puzzle that we were missing...she had pills in her purse.
All-in-all, it was pretty fun. Next week, we're learning about the traffic laws. I have some good questions about that...heh.
A few of us volunteered to be tazed, too, but that won't be til later. Heh heh.

Ok, thanks to Jeri, I will be updating over here more often...

I haven't been here since September, holy cow....I've been kind of preoccupied with Myspace, but I will try to give you attention here as well...Just because you are the youngest, doesn't mean I love you less...

A little quick update since the last time we spoke...

I got a job, then had to quit...I have a woman now...I've started school again...I got a new car that I can't really pay for...ummm....that's about it...

I'm doing the Bonney Lake Police Citizen's Academy, which I talked about over here and I'll be updating about that once a week...which I'm a little behind on since we're in our second week and I haven't talked about the first one yet...nyeh...

So, don't you fret...I shall not leave you again (Pronounced uh-gayn)....

Peace, Love and Hot Dogs...
